Myofascial Therapy
Myofascial therapy is a specialized form of massage that aims to ease pain and enhance movement by focusing on fascia.
I typically find myofacial therapy useful, even nessesary, to help people with persistant issues.
Fascia is the connective tissue enveloping muscles and other body structures. When the fascia becomes tight or restricted, it can cause discomfort, tension, and reduced mobility. This therapy involves applying sustained pressure to the fascia to alleviate these restrictions, thereby restoring movement and relieving pain. The goal is to enhance the flexibility of both the fascia and the underlying muscles, which in turn improves circulation and decreases muscle tension. Myofascial therapy is often utilized for chronic pain conditions like fibromyalgia, headaches, neck and back pain, and various musculoskeletal problems, ultimately promoting better mobility and restoring the body's balance.
